Manchester - Sackville Gardens 2015

Date:
Sunday 22 November 2015, 5:00pm
Town:
Manchester - Sackville Gardens
Description:
Transgender Day of Remembrance, Candle Light Vigil
Venue:
Sackville Gardens
Address:
Canal Street
Further information:

Annual day of remembrance for those lost to ignorance hate and transphobia.

Held in Sackville Gardens in the heart of Manchester's Gay Village, this event is organized by Sparkle, the national transgender charity.
This is a free event for everyone to stand in solidarity with those members of the Trans community who we have lost over the past year through violence, hate and suicide.

This is the largest TDoR event in the country and the event will include readings, a choir and the reading of the names culminating in a candlelight procession to the Trans memorial.

Manchester Lesbian and Gay Chorus will sing.
Guest speaker is Paul Martin OBE of the LGBT Foundation, and the Deputy Mayor of Manchester will attend.

After the ceremony there will be a small drinks reception at VIA in Canal Street.

Also, see Facebook under 'Sparkle' under 'TDoR'.
