On Saturday, from 2pm a very diverse crowd of people began to meet in the Clocktower Cafe, Katharine Street, homing in on the trans flag.
At 3pm by the display on the first floor of the Central Library, Katharine Street - also in the Clocktower building - there was a short ceremony of remembrance. The names of victims were read.
Three people of concern in Croydon were named separately, Kellie Telesford, murdered in uncertain circumstances in 2007, Sonia Burgess, human rights lawyer, who died under a train at Kings Cross underground in October this year, and a personal friend of a member of Croydon Trans Group whose death is believed to have been a suicide caused by the pressure she was under.
The ceremony ended with a minute's silence.
This was accompanied by a buffet meal and followed by a time to socialise.
