Manchester 2012

Sunday 25 November 2012, 3:45pm
Sackville Park
off Canal Street, Manchester
Further information:

Each year a day is set aside to honour the memory of all those trans people killed by violence every year and to affirm our resolve to report transphobic crime.

There will be a candlelit minute's silence and reading of the names of the deceased by the Beacon of Hope and will last for approximately one hour. All are welcome; feel free to bring a candle, flowers or another appropriate tribute. After the vigil if you'd like to stay around and socialise we will be heading to Taurus on Canal Street.

If you wish to volunteer to read the list of names, would like to read a poem or speech, or require any other information, please contact us via email at

People are encouraged to share this Facebook event so that others may join but may I remind you that this event is public and anybody can see that you are attenting / in the invite list. As such, please be careful who you 'invite' as you may risk unintentionally outing someone who does not wish to be.
